As a leading video surveillance manufacturer, Uniview has continuously attended Intersec for five years and launched new technologies every time. This year, Uniview released the latest products and technologies such as 8MP/5MP Series, Hybrid NVR, all-in-one VMS – “Unicorn” as the highlighted products; ultra 265, retail, SMB, building solution as the integrated solution. Aaron Chao, Marketing director of Uniview International Business Department, has given us more details about it.
What is Uniview strategy for 2018 in Italy and in the world?
This year, we focus not just on national distributors but also on regional distributors/resellers and
installers. That is why we will start a new communication towards them, to get closer and offer better
support to them. In Italy, we are now working with our national distributor and hope to organize more road
shows and technical conferences during year 2018. Moreover, we are now planning to open some branch offices
around the world to better support local market.
What is the business area in which you see major developments?
Artificial intelligence (AI) for sure. For now, you may find “AI” still as a very wide concept, but actually
a lot of companies like Uniview have already started the research over the years. We aim at collecting video
images and making them available to the user in a smart and efficient way. For example, Face recognition is
one of those business areas in which we will work harder, implementing tags to search for information among
huge video streams. Unlike what is available in the market at the moment, our face recognition technology
can be applied to more realistic scenarios and recognize more than one face. We want to develop this
technology and add it to our solutions.
